Covering a built up area of 41,553 square meters, this gigantic development is situated in Mavoko Municipality of Machakos County which boarders Nairobi County to the east. It is named the “GREAT WALL APARTMENTS” after the famous Chinese Great Wall landmark and tourism attraction.

It comprises 528 units of self-contained 2 bed-roomed apartments within eleven (11) blocks of 48 units each on six floors including the ground floor plus a common parking area for 167 parking bays. It also has two additional blocks comprising 16 nos. nursery school units and 16 nos. commercial shops.

The total investment in construction was Kenya Shillings 1,250,000,000.00. It was funded by the China Development Bank through a project financing arrangement with the Development Bank of Kenya. The construction began in July 2008 completing barely one and a half years later in December of 2009.

It comprises 528 units of self-contained 2 bed-roomed apartments i.e. eleven (11) blocks each 48 units on six floors including the ground floor plus a common parking area for parking bays. It is fully financed and was completed in December 2009.Some of the prime highlights of this mammoth project include a commercial center and a nursery school besides other facilities.

Key highlights of GWA-I include:

  • Permanent clean water supply from a borehole to complement the municipal council water supply.
